"Chirp Chirp" Kind of the feeling I get on my website lately & I do apologize! I would like to update all my fans as well as past, current, & future clients/customers on the behind the scenes work here at Busy Designs. Currently with running the Valentine's Day mini-sessions as well as taking on full length shoots, I am booked up! I'm grateful for the opportunities to meet so many amazing people & also taking so many great photos! If you haven't booked a shoot yet check HERE for the package deal, there are very few spots left! In addition to this I will be at the Harrisburg Humane Society Saturday February 16th for their Sweetheart Adoption Event. Be sure to check out the information on their site & always consider adopting before buying a pet. I've been fortunate enough to spend some time getting to know many of the pet residents there & easily fall in love with them all! While some may find homes quickly, many other great pets are still waiting for that special someone! Now as if this wasn't enough to fill a month or two, Busy Designs will be going through a bit of a renovation over the next few months. This is exciting news!! WOW, what a year 2012 turned out to be! In reflection I would like to take a moment to thank all of Busy Designs clients, customers, & supporters!! You all are the reason I work so hard to better my skills & constantly looking for new, fun, & exciting products to add. I myself still remember the many trips to local chain studios. It was convenient but always felt rushed, uncomfortable, and we we're never quite happy with the finished photos nor the prices. Year after year they offered the same setup, same props, same backgrounds, same packages, and same poses. Once in awhile we would get a more skilled photographer but most we're very new, very inexperienced. This left us with a bad feeling because our money wasn't being well spent and our memories weren't being showcased as they should. This is why detail and the client's wants and needs far exceed anything else when I am on a shoot. I know what I would want not only for the money invested but also the memory that is being captured.  YaY for gift giving made easy! Mandy Now that I'm slowly coming out of 7 days of editing I can breathe deep, and share a few insights into what it takes to be a photographer. I often hear people in passing say they would like to get into the business and I find it difficult to explain on the spot what they will need to consider. It's a fun career but also very challenging and time consuming without the high payouts of most career choices. Taking photos is maybe 35% of what I do while the rest is post session work as well as maintaining a business. This is just a small peek into most of my work days. Not every photographer works the same but the basics are there for all of us. Ladies, we have all been there. That moment something important comes up & nothing fits the way we would like. We talk ourselves down & feel the negativity more as the clothes on the floor pile up & our closets empty. It sucks! Plain & simple, but you're not alone. I don't think there are many (if any) woman out there that haven't been through it, but there is hope! As your photographer I want you to see the beauty in yourself that I see through the lens. I truly believe the only way our beauty will shine is when we feel it ourselves! While every woman is an amazing work of art, sadly many feel much less than what they should. While clothing isn't always a "fix-all" it is a great start! Below are some boards of inspiration & tips to dress your problem areas to look and feel your best. It's not about covering up in baggy clothes and hiding, but instead embracing and yes loving the body you're in! Currently I'm on the fence with VistaPrint after ordering a massive amount of business cards using my own logo/design which wasn't the greatest quality. They were prompt however in offering a refund for their mistake so when I came across this massive freebie special I had to take advantage!
